Classy

Between you and me, this outfit is from yesterday. That doesn't mean I love it any less though! I spiced up this classy LBD from Target with a lacy cardigan, red belt, and red heels (red lipstick too, if we're counting that). Every girl needs to have a classic black dress, or at least that's what Tim Gunn tells me. The basic black dress is number 1 on his list of wardrobe essentials. When I first looked through his 10 essentials, I realized I didn't have a black dress that I loved. I needed a "go-to" dress for work, going out, etc. I still can't believe I ended up finding this perfect one at Target! Target is slowly taking over my closet (and my bank account).

Also, let me ramble about my shoes and purse for a minute. These Nine West heels were only $20 from (can you guess?) TJ Maxx! I was quite excited to add these to my ever growing collection of shoes. It was my first pair of pointed toe pumps! My purse was just as great of a deal, too! I got it from JustFab.com, where your first purchase is 50% off with free shipping, making this adorable bag only $20. 20 must be my lucky number this week.

Okay, while I'm at it, I must tell you--my belt cost me about $4. Where did I get it, you ask? Amazon! Amazon isn't just for books, people. Seriously. Never buy belts anywhere else! They have any color/style you could ever want, from $1-5 each!

Now that I've taught you how to be a cheapskate, go pay your $20 and get yourself a pair of red heels, or an adorable black purse. Or, if you're really cheap, you can just spend $4 and get a cute belt. I won't judge you.

Well hey, Internet. I decided to stop being busy lazy and blog again today. Honestly though, I was indeed busy most of this week, and when I wasn't, I was being lazy to recover from being so busy. I would go into details about it, but I don't want to put you to sleep (okay, it had to do with work, signing up for classes, some more work, cleaning, and finally spending time with friends).

This week, I have some goals. I always feel so motivated when I plan the week coming up, and it never turns out the way I imagined. For this week, I'm planning on:
*4-5 outfit posts
*doing Insanity all 6 days, like I'm supposed to
*getting enough sleep each night (already messed this one up... it's 1:30 AM)
*fixing my schedule for school
*eating healthy!

I'll let you know how this super exciting list turns out. I'm sure you will lay in bed curious about how it goes, but really, don't worry.

I can only hope for more something exciting to share with you tomorrow.

Passwords Galore

I tried again today on my "not smiling, but still happy" face, and to no avail. I just look really mean. I'm not a mean person, I swear. Apparently, when I try to be natural, I look angry. Chronic meanie face probs.

On another note, I have a social media question/rant/complaint for you guys. Why are there so many?! I basically use Instagram and Facebook (for my personal use). I mean, I have a Twitter, Vine, Google Plus, and Pinterest as well, but do I look at all those everyday? No. Am I supposed to? When it comes to my blog, I have a separate Instagram, a Bloglovin' page, and... I think that's all. I don't really feel the need to have Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Vine, Google Plus, and goodness knows what else. Like why?! I can't keep up with all of that. I just want to write my blog and post a few pictures on Instagram, and that's that. (Let alone have a personal account AND a blog account.)

I suppose I'm supposed to promote myself through all of that, but do you guys really have that many accounts that you use on a daily basis? I'm lucky if I can remember my email password let alone all of these other ones. I'm also lucky if I can remember to turn the oven on when I try to cook food (that may or may not have happened the other day).

But other than my failing memory, it seems very time consuming and repetitive to have that many social media accounts. What are your thoughts on it?

P.S. I'm super excited that I finally wore my rosette necklace today! It was a great steal on Groopdealz for $14.99 a few weeks ago!

An Outfit + A Cute Dog

Before I start my rambling, let me make a few notes about these pictures:
1. Please excuse the dog hair and other unknown substance on my arm in picture #5 (the close up of my arm candy and Tory Burch clutch). I didn't notice it until just now, and the fur is brought to you by my boyfriend's adorable German Shepherd (who is making his blog debut on this post! Keep reading and scrolling to see).
2. I promise to get a main/pedi ASAP (see second to last photo).
3. I'm working on my "not smiling but still happy" face (see second picture). That's the best I could do for now. I'm not trying to scowl at you guys, really. I generally only look okay in pictures with my toothy smile, but we're trying something different here.

I spent a great deal of time on the couch watching Mad Men on Netflix with Matt today. Yes, that's right, I wore a skirt and a nice cardigan from J. Crew to lay around in today. Didn't you know? These are my lowly peasant clothes. You should see the ball gown I wear when I have to be in public.*

Okay, truthfully, this outfit is ridiculously comfortable, and I wore it on this lazy Saturday because most of this outfit violates my work's dress code, so even though the rest of the world thinks I'm dressed up, (the rest of the world being my mom, Matt, and the sales lady at Kohl's who all asked me why I'm so dressed up today) I'm really wearing an outfit I've wanted to wear for the past 5 days but wasn't allowed to. At my office, we're not supposed to wear "t-shirts" (strike 1), skirts are supposed to hit at or below the knee (strike 2), and no flip-flops, even on casual day (strike 3). I know, I know, I'm so risque.*

Since I'm just breaking all the rules this weekend, what should I wear tomorrow? My tankini? Booty shorts? ANOTHER T-SHIRT?! It could get crazy up in here, you'll just have to come back and see.

Oh! And I almost forgot. You have to see the precious doggy who loves to shed fur all over my clothing and depletes the sticky paper from my lint roller (he has a few other qualities)!

Meet Maverick.

I guess you can meet Matt, too, if you want. ;)

Isn't he so cute?! At least now when my clothes are furry you will think of this adorable dog and not judge me for being dirty. You'd let him get fur all over you too, right?! Besides, I always pair my Tory Burch and J. Crew with dog hair.*

*I'm kidding. Or am I?

Playing Favorites

Frankfort, Kentucky is actually a pretty cute little town. Matt and I had lunch downtown today, so that's where we took my outfit pictures. I'm glad we did! It's a bit more exciting than my backyard. I also got to show off my amazing parallel parking skills. I seriously parallel parked flawlessly between 2 cars (people on the street started clapping when I got out of the car, it was that good).

I think my outfit today is "color blocked." Usually I feel really boring when I wear just colors with no prints, but the lace on my shirt gives it a little extra something. My shirt and pants are both from Kohl's, which if you haven't noticed by now, I get a ton of my clothes/shoes/jewelry/etc. from there. The shirt I'm wearing isn't online anymore, but they still have it in my local store and it's on clearance for only $8! It wasn't that cheap when I got it (sad face). They have a great selection of clothing in juniors and misses, but my favorite is the LC Lauren Conrad line (both my shirt and pants are from it!). Their prices are super reasonable too, and they always have coupons on top of sales.

Want to get in on the savings? My readers can get an exclusive 10% off discount for kohls.com using the code BLOGGER10 May 10th-July 11th. It can be used to stack savings with other department level discounts as well!

Hot Hot Hot

I really wanted to have a clever blog post title today, but all I can think about is how hot it is. It's 90 degrees here in central Kentucky. This little outfit shoot literally only took about 3 minutes because Matt and I couldn't stand to be without AC for any longer than that. It's not that it's just simply warm, it's also extremely humid which makes it feel 20 times worse than it would otherwise. Hence the reason my hair is in a bun. (There is no point in trying to do anything with it, I swear.)

If you follow me on instagram, you might have seen the wonderful, adorable necklaces I got in the mail today! Let me just say that I never wear orange--this is the only orange shirt I have and I hardly wear it--but the necklace I got today has a wee bit of orange on it. I really wanted to switch into that necklace for this shoot, but I'm saving it for tomorrow instead (big toothy smile). New necklaces excite me, okay? You should see how many I have in my room. (Possible closet tour post? :) )

Well, that's all folks. If you need me I will be sitting on the air conditioning vent.
