Tuesday is Penn Station Day

You know I'm behind when you get 2 outfit posts in one day. Lucky for you! You might also be wondering why this has such a strange title. You see, one blog post is hard enough on my brain, but two just requires entirely too much brain power/creativity. The only thing I could think to do was to tell you about my weird eating rituals.

Every Tuesday, Matt and I eat Penn Station. It's family night, or something like that, and 6 inch subs are buy one get one free (this makes it okay to spend $5 on a 6 inch sandwich). Their parmesan chicken sub is amazing, and their fries are amazing, and... I'm cheap, okay?

Anyways, I woke up late today. Luckily, I knew that I would since I've slept in the past 4 days, and I set 5 alarms. I seriously woke up on the 5th one, which gave me just enough time to get ready. I didn't even have an outfit picked out for the day (I'm lazy), so I through this together last minute. Who knew purple and leopard go so well together?

These shoes are quickly becoming my favorite pair ever. They have the tiniest wedge on them (they make me like half an inch taller... it matters when you're 5'1") and I love the peep toe. You should be seeing a lot of them.

Oh! About that test I told you guys about... I got the highest score. 101%. Sometimes, it's good to be a nerd.

Running Behind

Did you miss me?! Sorry for the mini-hiatus, I was so lazy during my 4-day weekend! The outfit you're looking at is from Thursday. Almost everything I'm wearing is new(-ish) and it all just happened to go so well together! Don't you love it when that happens?

When I was at work, I could have sworn my skirt was way too short for work. I kind of felt like a hooker compared to what everyone else was wearing (pants). Looking at these pictures makes me feel a little better because it doesn't seem too short. I promise to get a tan ASAP, though (my legs are blinding).

Business Casual

I think this is my first outfit post in full-on "Corporate America" clothes. Sometimes dress pants are downright frumpy, but these are amazing. They are stretchy. Yes, stretchy can sometimes mean even more frumpy, but as you can see, these aren't! They fit just right--I love the straight leg fit. I feel like I'm wearing yoga pants, but I look very put together.

Check out my new flats in the third picture. I love love love them. I think almost every pair of shoes I've worn on the blog so far has been from TJ Maxx, so you'll never guess where I bought these. Their clearance aisle and I get along a little bit too well. I swear I'm avoiding that place for a while.

I've been buying like crazy, so I think I'm going to take a step back and evaluate what I have. My clothes seem to be taking over my room... and they really need to stop throwing themselves all over the place before I get mad. It's a little embarrassing. Help me out and shop my closet on Poshmark. :) My best friend and I are dedicating all day Friday to adding new items to our Poshmark "closet's" so stay tuned--tons of new stuff is coming!

P.S.- In case you were wondering, I think I did pretty good on my test today!

Matching Queen

You know what? I just realized I have an important test tomorrow. Great timing, right? I mean, I am glad I thought of it now, rather than when I get to work. You see, when you work at a financial institution, things change constantly, and you have to know your stuff all the time... therefore we have an annual test. I better make this quick and go study!

My shoes match my shirt, my shirt matches the grey on my skirt, and my necklace matches my skirt. I am the best at picking out perfectly matching outfits completely by accident. My mom would be proud (she was, she loved this outfit).

Today was kind of a long day, and I think you can tell by looking at me in these pictures. Matt and I didn't even get them taken until about 8 pm. Shew, blogging is so demanding! ;)

I kid, I really like blogging. I started my blog because I enjoy clothes, and I wanted to share my outfits with people, get ideas from other bloggers' outfits, and have a visual record of what I've done with my closet so far. I actually found this awesome app called "What's in my closet?" where you take a picture of each item and categorize all your shirts, pants, etc. It's seriously a great idea, though I think for me it'd be so time consuming. I own way too much. It's almost time for a closet clean out session. Speaking of which, when I do clean out my closet I post the items on my Poshmark account where you can purchase them! Check it out here.

It's not July 4th?

I fell down some stairs today.

Don't worry, it was funny, not life-threatening. In case you needed something to make you chuckle, just picture me, somehow not being able to make it down 3 simple wooden steps. I mean, I blame my shoes because seriously, they are SO SLICK on the bottom. I should have been more careful, but I decide to try to be carefree for 3 seconds, and what do you know, my feet slide right out from under me. I can't count how many times I've almost fallen in them (but we can total the amount of times I've actually fallen in them to 1). My sweet boyfriend didn't even laugh at me, he just immediately rushed over and asked if I was okay. I don't deserve him. I would have laughed until I cried if I watched him fall down the (tiny set of 3) steps. Things are a little tender over here, but I'll live, and I have a new appreciation for Matt.

In other news, here's my outfit:

[I made my photographer take one with me. Hope you don't mind. :) ]

I woke up today determined to wear these shorts. I always put them on, try to make an outfit, get frustrated, and move on. I don't think I've ever actually made it out of the house with them on! So, I decided to pretend it was Matt's birthday (he was born on the 4th of July... tehe) and threw on my red Old Navy top. It's a bit more revealing than I wanted to be, so I threw this cardigan over it as well, and it turned out so well! The past few days I've felt pretty "meh" about my outfits, but I was happy with this one today. Who knew red, white and blue (and grey) go so well together? Yay 'Merica.

There's something about feeling great in an outfit that brightens my day (maybe you feel that way too and we can be friends). To some, clothes are clothes, but putting together different combinations and finding some that work, really work, makes me happy and gives me an accomplished feeling.

Now that I've had my cheesy moment, I'll continue. When I decided this outfit needed a cardigan with it, I didn't think I owned one that would match. The one I found and ended up wearing is grey with navy on the sleeves. It's something I bought (about a year ago) because I decided I really needed a grey cardigan, yet to this day I haven't worn it. I guess I decided to put all my reject clothes together today. I don't think I could find anything that perfect by accident again if I tried.

I feet like this outfit would have been perfect to wear with an anchor necklace (so I could be trendy and call it "nautical"), but since I don't own one, I wore this adorable bow necklace I picked up at Kohl's last night on clearance for $9 (it matched my evil slick-bottom bow sandals perfectly, too!). If you haven't noticed, I love Kohl's. I used to work there, and my significant other still does, so I get so many discounts there it's crazy. I told you this necklace was on clearance for $9, but after all my coupons it wasn't more than $6. Yep, I love Kohl's.

Sorry for all the rambling today. I'm feeling chatty.

Casual Friday

You know, one of the main reasons I started my blog was to give myself a visual idea of what I have in my closet. I've always been the "I have nothing to wear" type of girl, when there's about 4390458093453 pieces of clothing in my closet. I can't afford to go out and buy a new outfit every single day, so I'm trying to "remix" the pieces I do have. It turns out
4390458093453 is a really good starting place.

Anyway, before the blog, I looked forward to casual Friday every week. Casual Friday was my no-effort, comfy day. For some reason, all the remixes I've come up with so far deal with dresses, skirts, or otherwise non-denim items. I'm more confused on Friday than Monday, and that's just wrong. TGIM? No.

I finally managed to put something together with normal jeans. I even managed to wear my new flats ($15 from TJ Maxx! Thanks Franco Sarto!) so I think I won.

Take that, casual Friday. The sad part is I work tomorrow, which means more jeans and more confusion. I'll get it right one day.

What do you wear to look cute on jean day?

Rainy Day Off

You know those days when you wake up thinking, "I'm going to get so much done today!"? Well, today was one of those days for me... but the weather has totally put a damper on that.

It's raining. It's been raining ALL. DAY.

Something about rain just makes me want to lay in bed and do nothing. It's so peaceful sounding that you could just fall asleep... I'm trying my hardest to stay awake long enough to finish this post.

Instead of an outfit of mine today, I'm going to show you my ideal rainy-weather outfit. I'll probably end up in some variation of this outfit today (you know, if I can ever convince myself to change out of these pajamas).

I believe the only things I actually own out of those items is a pair of pearls and the black leggings. The rest is on my wish list for now, though I'm going to have to order those Hunter's and the adorable monogramed raincoat sooner rather than later if the weather keeps this up (yep, I'll just HAVE to do that). ;)

Neon Love

The weather in Kentucky is extremely... varied (what I really want to say is bipolar, but that's offensive. Oops.). Last night, it was about 40 degrees. Today, it was at least 65. Tonight, it's supposed to go back down to the 30s or 40s. I decided to wear a dress while I could. In this state I only have about 12 hours to do so.

Also, I'm unusually proud of the way this outfit came together. This dress came with a brown belt, but I really wanted to wear this neon pink scarf today, and a brown belt just wasn't working. I just happened to find this pink one that came with a dress I bought about a million years ago, and it's like it and this scarf were made for each other (yay!).

I tried something crazy with my hair today, if you didn't notice. You see, sock buns and I generally don't get along, but today I was determined to make it work. 15 minutes, about 100 bobby pins, and one can of hairspray later, I decided this was as good as it was gonna get (which is still much better than usual). Maybe my hair will cooperate tomorrow.

Graduation Day

I graduated today with my Associate degree. I am going back (continuing, really) to school in the fall for my Bachelors, so today was really only the halfway mark. However, today was pretty special because I actually had to get up and give a speech. I'm generally extremely awkward and shy (hard to believe, isn't it?) so I was super nervous, but everyone tells me I did great. My mom said I didn't talk in my "high-pitched nervous voice" so I guess that means I did well (thanks, mom).

I apologize in advance for the quality of today's photos. I was really wanting to have a little outfit photo-shoot before graduation, but I should have known better. I'm always running late.

I'm kind of sad about how weird that last photo turned out. Why is there one random spot of intense light on my face? I'm considering dressing back up in the same outfit tomorrow and taking pictures again. Is that too over the top? (I'm kind of relentless when it comes to getting the perfect picture.)

Also, my shoes. I wish so much that you could see them in all their glory. They are pointed-toe, strappy, nude wedges. I mean, a pair of shoes don't get much more perfect than that. They go with everything, they're comfortable, and they stay on my feet. It also doesn't hurt that I got them on sale at TJ Maxx.

Thank you to my wonderful boyfriend for posing in all these pictures with me, even if it we did only do each pose one time (which is never enough).

#1

It's so easy to think of things to blog about, until you're actually doing it. (Am I right?!) For a while now, I've wanted to start my own blog thanks to the inspiration of some lovely ladies I follow on Instagram and Bloglovin'. And I just really like clothes. Before I talk myself out of it, here goes my first outfit post:

Outfit Details: Top: Target // Pants: Kohl's // Necklace: Wet Seal //
Watch: Michael Kors // Shoes: Old

There's nothing like a good peplum top (especially one that you find on clearance!). I might be a little too matchy-matchy here, but I couldn't resist putting together my mint pants with my mint bubble necklace! What color are you loving this spring?

P.S. Want to know a secret? My pants are actually capris. Yes, I'm that short.

Thanks for stopping by my first post. :)
